Florida Crew Lake Newnan
Prospective Rowers Athlete Questionnaire Newnan's Lake FAQ

Lake NewnanFlorida Crew rows out of a boathouse on Lake Newnan in East Gainesville. This still water lake covers 7,427 acres and offers a long 15-20 kilometer row along the perimeter. The lake is home to flora and fauna such as bald eagles, alligators, and a variety of fish.

The boathouse land was purchased for water recreation purposes for UF by the Turlingtons in 1922. The land is currently being shared with our friends at Gainesville Area Rowing. Our boathouse is currently on land leased from the Tacachale Center.

Directions to the boathouse:

From UF campus, take University Ave east towards downtown Gainesville for about 5 miles. At Waldo Rd, stay left of the fork in the road. Continue until you get to a second fork, and take a slight right. The parking lot is a mile down the road.
